Community Arts Management Level 3

To achieve the full National Award in Community Arts Managements, you are required to complete all nine units at this level.

Summary of units and elements

Unit 1 Acquiring funding/bursaries in the community arts environment

  • Element 1.1 Investigate sources and methodologies for raising funds
  • Element 1.2 Making a funding application and budget control
  • Element 1.3 Evaluation of funding and networking impacts

Unit 2 Developing a project with partners in the community arts environment

  • Element 2.1 Develop partnership projects within the community
  • Element 2.2 Identify the purpose of a project
  • Element 2.3 Monitor and evaluate partnership projects within the community
  • Element 2.4 Disseminate information between partnership and with the general public

Unit 3 Partnership liaison in the community arts environment

  • Element 3.1 Research and evaluate existing community arts provision
  • Element 3.2 Plan, prepare and co-ordinate a partnership project
  • Element 3.3 Disseminate information between partnership and with the general public

Unit 4 Pitching for work in the community arts environment

  • Element 4.1 Prepare and present personal or corporate details
  • Element 4.2 Identify community arts needs, prepare and present supporting material and make recommendations

Unit 5 Pitching for work in the community arts environment

  • Element 5.1 Identify and investigate peer training and mentoring opportunities
  • Element 5.2 Investigate peer training and mentoring relationships
  • Element 5.3 Monitor and evaluate training and mentoring

Unit 6 Cross art form collaboration in the community arts environment

  • Element 6.1 Devise and organise a cross art from programme
  • Element 6.2 Communicate and work effectively with partnership and practitioners
  • Element 6.3 Monitor and evaluate a programme or project

Unit 7 Health, safety and security in the community arts environment

  • Element 7.1 Make checks and report emergencies
  • Element 7.2 Evaluate risk and investigate plans for safety and evacuation
  • Element 7.3 Investigate safety equipment and notices

Unit 8 Working with participants from diverse groups in the community arts environment

  • Element 8.1 Investigate Services and accessibility in relation to need
  • Element 8.2 Develop programmes that support a broad range of activities for diverse groups
  • Element 8.3 Communicate and evaluate effectively
