Cultural Heritage Venue Operations Level 3
Qualification Overview: EDI, in conjunction with Creative and Cultural Skill, has developed a comprehensive range of Creative and Cultural qualifications reflecting the diversity of job roles in the sector.
This award is ideally for those in the front of house and administrative or support role within any type of cultural venue. This learner will gain real work experience of what goes on in the day to day operations of a cultural venue and see how the processes and procedures enable the venue to run smoothly. The learner will liaise with visitors to the venue and provide a range of customer service. This pathway equips learners with a range of generic skills to widen the job opportunities available to them.
To achieve the full National Award in Cultural Heritage Venue Operations, you are required to complete all eight of the units at Level 3.
Mandatory Core (8 Units)
Unit 1 Provide effective customer service
- Element 1.1 Solve immediate customer service problems (customer service standards NVQ unit 32 El 1)
- Element 1.2 Plan improvements in customer service based on feed back (Customer service standards NVQ unit 40 El 1)
- Element 1.3 Plan and organise the work of the team (Customer service standards unit 42 El 1)
Unit 2 Make sure your own actions reduce risks to the health and safety
- Element 2.1 Identify the hazards and evaluate the risks in your work place
- Element 2.2 Reduce the risk to health and safety in the work place
Unit 3 Contribute to the control of incidents in the workplace
- Element 3.1 Identify and assess potential security threats
- Element 3.2 Take action to prevent and control security (skills for justice) NOS Fp2.2)
Unit 4 Monitor and maintain procedures for using IT and interpreting systems
- Element 4.1 Monitor and maintain IT and interpreting systems
Unit 5 Monitor and maintain housekeeping procedures
- Element 5.1 Monitor and maintain procedures for opening and closing a cultural venue
- Element 5.2 Monitor and maintain procedures for cleaning and carrying out maintenance
- Element 5.3 Monitor and maintain budgets
Unit 6 Organise events and exhibitions
- Element 6.1 Plan an event or exhibition
- Element 6.2 Operate an event or exhibition
- Element 6.3 Evaluate an event or exhibition
Unit 7 Monitor and maintain procedures for accessing, recording and storing information
- Element 7.1 Monitor and maintain procedures for accessing, recording and storing information
Unit 8 Monitor procedures for dealing with financial information
- Element 8.1 Monitor and maintain procedures for carrying our financial transactions
- Element 8.2 Prepare and review financial information for budgets
Cultural Heritage Venue Operations Level 2
To achieve the full National Award in Cultural Heritage Venue Operations, you are required to complete all eight of the units at Level 2.
