Mentoring in the Workplace

This unit-based award assesses someone's competence (that is, the skills, knowledge and understanding they have) in a work situation. It comprises units taken from the Learning and Development national occupational standards. These were developed by the Employment National Training Organisation (ENTO), which was the government-approved national training organization for employment at the time of development. The standards describe the level and breadth of performance that is expected of anyone working in the industry or sector which the awards cover.

Assessment will be carried out in the workplace by qualified assessors; the Certificate in Mentoring in the Workplace is appropriate for those working with candidates enabling individual learning in the workplace as a mentor.

There will be an element of independent assessment by a competent job holder who is qualified as an assessor, but who is not your primary assessor or your internal verifier
