Retail Skills Level 3

Sales Professional Pathway:
To achieve a full certificate in Retail at Level 3, you are required to complete a total of six units as outlined below:

Mandatory Unit

(Learners must complete Unit 1)

  • E8 Work effectively in your retail organisation

Optional Units

Learners must achieve a further five units. At least four of these must be chosen from the following units at Level 3:

Sales

  • C7 Process part exchange sales transactions in a retail environment
  • C14 Provide specialist support in helping customers to make purchases in
  • a retail environment
  • C30 Develop individual retail service opportunities
  • C31 Provide a personalised sales and after-sales service to your retail clients

Stock Management

  • B14 Organise the receipt and storage of goods in a retail environment
  • B15 Audit stock levels and stock inventories in a retail environment

Product expertise

  • B22 Monitor and help improve food safety in a retail environment
  • C38 Assist customers to obtain appropriate insurance

Sourcing

  • B16 Source required goods and services in a retail environment

Merchandising

  • C13 Maintain the availability of goods for sale to customers in a retail environment

Management and Leadership

  • E9 Help to manage a retail team
  • E12 Plan,monitor and adjust staffing levels and schedules in a retail environment

Finance and Administration

  • C15 Enable customers to apply for credit and hire purchase facilities

Customer Service

  • E17 Monitor and evaluate the quality of service provided by external suppliers
  • to your customers

Only one unit can count towards the qualification when chosen from units 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20:

  • D5 Organise the delivery of reliable customer service
  • D6 Improve the customer relationship
  • D7 Work with others to improve customer service
  • D8 Monitor and solve customer service problems
  • D9 Promote continuous improvement in customer service

Organisational Effectiveness

  • E11 Help to monitor and maintain the security of the retail unit

Visual Merchandising Pathway:
To achieve a full certificate in Retail at Level 3, you are required to complete a total of six units as outlined below:

  • C27 Allocate, monitor and control visual merchandising project resources
  • against budgets
  • C28 Contribute to developing and putting into practice the company's visual
  • merchandising policy
  • C29 Create plans, elevations and drawings to realise visual merchandising ideas

Management and Leadership

  • E9 Help to manage a retail team
  • E10 Contribute to the continuous improvement of retail operations

Visual Merchandising

  • C18 Follow guidelines for planning and preparing visual merchandising displays
  • C19 Follow guidelines for dressing visual merchandising displays
  • C20 Order graphic materials for visual merchandising displays
  • C21 Dismantle and store visual merchandising displays
  • C22 Make props for visual merchandising displays
  • C23 Put visual merchandising displays together

Management Pathway:

  • B15 Audit stock levels and stock inventories in a retail environment
